A great chance to see two jazz artists in an intimate setting. Salon jazz in a private home. Up close and personal! Andrew and Sally Sussman’s new home is a beautiful classic rancher, formerly owned by Tom and Yvonne MacBride, set high on Wynnecrest Hill in Waynesboro. It offers a gorgeous outlook and is a perfect setting for a jazz brunch. Andrew, CVSM’s executive director and a composer and jazz musician himself, has many friends and contacts who are internationally acclaimed jazz artists. Two favorites are Nancy Reed, vocals and David Leonhardt, piano. They have great facility as performers, work together very well as a duo, and really connect with their audience. Jazz greats they have performed and recorded with include David “Fathead” Newman, Phil Woods, Stan Getz, Bobby McFerrin, Benny Carter, and Herbie Mann, to name just a few. Here they will be performing jazz standards as well as several songs written by Andrew. 12:30 PM

When the holiday season rolls around I am always happy to play these melodies from my childhood. Improvisations based on such familiar songs open up a world of possibilities for us.
